Introducing The Homeschool Edit: Plan Less. Teach More.
There’s been something new growing behind The Social Edit TX, and this one is especially close to home.
I’m excited to officially introduce The Homeschool Edit to The Social Edit TX followers — a homeschool planning and organization platform created to make managing homeschool a little simpler.
From The Social Edit TX to The Edit Suite
When I started The Social Edit TX, my goal was to help small business owners simplify the parts of running a business that often feel overwhelming — websites, social media, systems, organization, and all of the little things happening behind the scenes.
But business isn’t the only area of my life that needs systems.
Before becoming a business owner, I spent seven years as an elementary teacher. Today, I homeschool my own children while also running The Social Edit TX.
And if you homeschool, you already know there are a LOT of moving pieces.
Lesson plans.
Attendance.
Grades.
Worksheets.
Curriculum.
Schedules.
Different students working at different levels.
And approximately 47 tabs open trying to keep track of all of it.
I wanted something simpler.
So I built it.
Meet The Homeschool Edit
The Homeschool Edit was created to give homeschool families one central place to plan, organize, track, and manage their homeschool.
Instead of piecing together multiple planners, spreadsheets, printables, websites, and tools, families can keep more of their homeschool in one place.
Inside The Homeschool Edit, families can:
Create individual student profiles
Build and manage weekly lesson plans
Track attendance
Keep grades organized with a built-in gradebook
Track curriculum and student progress
Create goals and notes for each student
Generate worksheets and learning resources
Access printable resources
Use AI-assisted planning tools
Reschedule and adjust lessons when real life changes the plan
Keep multiple students organized from one parent dashboard
And we’re continuing to build.
Because Homeschool Plans Have to Work in Real Life
One of the biggest things I wanted The Homeschool Edit to do differently was recognize that homeschool doesn't always happen exactly according to plan.
Kids get sick.
Appointments come up.
A lesson takes longer than expected.
You decide everyone needs a day outside instead.
Sometimes Monday's math becomes Tuesday's math — and that's okay. Trust me, I also have 2 under 2 along with homeschooling my two oldest. This happens…A LOT.
The goal isn't to create another system that makes parents feel behind.
The goal is to create a tool that helps you adjust the plan when life happens.
Plan less. Teach more.
That has become the heart behind The Homeschool Edit.
And Yes — Curriculum Is Coming, Too
The Homeschool Edit is more than a digital planner.
We’re also building The Homeschool Edit's own curriculum and educational resources, with lessons and worksheets designed to work directly within the platform.
The goal is to continue expanding grade levels and subjects so families have the option to use the platform with the curriculum they already love OR take advantage of more ready-to-use learning materials directly inside The Homeschool Edit.
This is a growing platform, which means new resources, features, and improvements will continue to be added as we learn what makes homeschooling easier for real families.
Built by a Homeschool Mom Who Happens to Be a Former Teacher
There are plenty of homeschool resources available.
But I wanted to create something that combined three different parts of my own experience:
The teacher in me understands lesson planning, learning objectives, progress, assessment, and the importance of meeting kids where they are.
The homeschool mom in me understands that teaching your own children looks very different from managing a classroom — and flexibility matters.
The business owner in me loves creating systems that take something complicated and make it easier to manage.
The Homeschool Edit brings all three together.
And just like The Social Edit TX grew from seeing what small business owners needed and creating solutions around those needs, The Homeschool Edit will continue growing based on what homeschool families actually need.
The Beginning of Something Bigger
The Homeschool Edit is also part of something new I've been quietly building: The Edit Suite.
The idea behind The Edit Suite is simple: Simple tools created to make work, home + school a little easier.
The Social Edit TX will continue doing what we do — helping businesses with websites, social media, branding, systems, and digital support.
But now, I'm also taking what I've learned about building systems and software and using it to create tools of our own.
The Homeschool Edit is one of those tools, and I'm incredibly excited to finally share it.
We’ll introduce you to our other tools: The WorkFlow Edit and The Meal Edit, soon.
